Introducing the Merida Reacto Disc 5000 Bahrain/Mclaren, a class-leading aerodynamic performance bike that beautifully combines cutting-edge technology with sublime style and comfort. This fourth-generation Reacto, known for its unrivalled speed capabilities, now features a number of refined improvements, making it sleeker and more efficient than ever before.
At the heart of the Disc 5000 is a new, expertly engineered fork design that is fully integrated into the frame. The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) calculations, developed from the latest virtual wind tunnel technology, have resulted in an impressive 2 Watt performance improvement. Also, the bar design has been revamped, now fully integrating its cables and resulting in approximately 2 Watts saving per cable, a testament to the Reacto's continuing evolution.
The bike's design also incorporates a larger gap between the tyre and the seat stays, as well as between the tyre and the fork crown and blades. This optimises airflow in vital areas, minimising drag and maximising speed. The integration of disc coolers, new through axles, and a lower junction between seat stays and the seat tube ensures that even the smallest details of the bike contribute to the overall aerodynamic performance.
The Reacto Disc 5000 uses a CF3 frame, fully equipped with the same features and geometry, but with the use of more economic fibres in the carbon lay-up. Despite the bike's enhanced ability to accommodate bigger tyres, this does not compromise on its aerodynamics. In fact, it further enhances the comfort, aerodynamics, lightweight nature, and stylish aesthetics of the bike.
